This concept album is for the tired, the restless or unsettled. The ones that need a place to go where they can begin to connect again; to their own heart, to God, to peace.
It’s for the ones that find themselves in a room they don’t know how to sit in. It’s a starting place or a place to land. It’s a voyage up to the Higher view, the truer perspective. It’s the clouds of peace that envelop us when we go higher, and the invitation to let them come into the room.
These songs are for unsettled babies or lively toddlers at 10pm. They're for little kids with nightmares or bigger kids with stress and burdens that are too heavy for human shoulders to carry. It's for the biggest 'kids', who've forgotten how to be their true child-like selves.
These songs are the sound of my voyage from turmoil to peace. The ones I wrote for my kids as I learned how to become a child again. They're the sound of reconnecting with my own heart; exhausted and weary, hurting or troubled. These are the melodies of letting go when I discovered how overwhelmed, lonely or scared I really was. They're the stories of my encounters with the love of a perfect Father.
This album is the sound of peace coming into my room.

Sheryn is a writer and musician from Perth, Western Australia. Her environment from a young age was musical, immersed by her sister’s melodies and her Dad’s twelve string guitar, through the years of her own musical journey. In her teens, she began writing and recording with every spare moment, and is deeply grateful that these first songs will never see the light of day. One song led to the next, each becoming a stepping stone to discovering the heartbeat and purpose of her music-making.
Rise to Rest is her second full-length studio album and is the first part of a bigger Rise project; the heartbeat of which, is to create space for kids and adults to slow down, connect with their own hearts and with a perfect heavenly Father. This record is the soundtrack of her “yes” to His invitation, a journey of surrender and learning what true rest is; letting Peace into the room. When she emerges from the studio, you may find her doing inexplicable amounts of laundry, obsessing over her peach tree, or writing hilarious nonsensical stories with her 3 children, way past their bedtime.
